The STARS Complex, located at 2980 Edison Avenue, houses educational, athletic and self-development programs designed for at-risk youth. These programs continue to be successful at the complex, but have expanded to off-site locations as well.

After School Program - One of the most important programs at the Complex, the After School Program provides homework help, reading and math tutorial, computer lab and is a Safe Haven for the youth of Fort Myers, providing counseling as needed. STARS Complex After School Program provides a safe place for children ages 6 through 14 to play and study. Parents and children are given a copy of the STARS Complex Program Rules of Behavior upon enrollment. Participants are expected to act in a responsible manner. Everyone has fun and students are encouraged to learn.

• Schools bus children to the STARS Complex after school. Check with your school.
• Tutoring, computer instruction, and help with FCAT preparation are part of the program
• Acts of destruction and disrespect are not allowed. Students are well supervised.
• Recreation in the gym and in our outdoor playground is a vital part of the program.
• Students learn the value of work and money management by saving STARS Bucks.

STARS Complex Junior Olympic Pool has a new filtration and heating system. Come take a dip on your lunch hour, in the evenings or on Saturday morning. The pool is available for pool parties at a moderate cost.

STARS Complex Tennis Courtsare open to the public seven days a week. Court are lights are turned on in the evening. Please bring your own equipment. No reservation is required and play is free. 

STARS Complex Basketball - Children’s AAU Basketball League, ages 10 through 18, practice in the STARS Complex gym on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Outdoor courts are always open. Courts are lighted and play is free.

Martial Arts Classesare held on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

STARS Complex Weed & Seedis a community Safe Haven. We are also the site of the first Seedlings Community Garden in Lee County. Children learn to grow vegetables, fruits and flowers. For beauty and good taste, come to see what your children are growing.

Boys & Girls Club has a chapter within the STARS Complex. They assist the STARS Complex staff by participating in the After-School Program and STARS camps. STARS children benefit from the Boys & Girls Club tutors and special events.
