City of Fort Myers Offices Closed on Thursday, Sept. 14

FORT MYERS, FL (September 13, 2017) – The City of Fort Myers has announced that all Fort Myers City Government offices will be closed on Thursday, September 14, 2017.  Essential personnel including hurricane recovery teams will be deployed, however City offices and customer facilities will be closed.

Residents with questions about City services can reach the City call center at 239-321-8100.  Residents are asked to reserve use of 9-1-1 for life safety emergencies only.  General information about the Hurricane emergency, shelters, and recovery efforts can call the 2-1-1 Help Line by dialing 2-1-1 or 239-433-3900.  The 2-1-1 Help Line is operational from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. 

The City will continue to prepare for local recovery from Hurricane Irma and issue more updates.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CITY EMPLOYEES:

In an effort to be well prepared for Hurricane Irma, the Payroll Department worked diligently to ensure the payroll would be ready on the regular pay date of Thursday, September 14, 2017. All employees with direct deposit will receive the funds into their account(s) as normal. Paychecks will be available tomorrow at the following times and locations listed below. Please be sure to bring photo ID with you as the person distributing the paychecks may not know you personally.

Police Department Personnel:

Employees of the Police Department are to see Denise Egolf any time after 9:30am tomorrow for paycheck pick up.

Fire Department Personnel:

You will need to come to City Hall after 9:00am tomorrow to pick up your pay check. The Payroll Department is located on the first floor of City Hall. Finance will be open until noon for paycheck pick up.

Public Works Operations Center Department Personnel:

Mary Abernathy will pick up paychecks for all employees who work at the facilities located in the Public Works Operations Center. The checks will be available after 11:30am until 3:30pm tomorrow in the same location where you normally pick up your paycheck. 

Parks & Beautification, Recreation and Golf Course Personnel:

Matt Fairchild will pick up paychecks for all employees in Parks & Beautification, Recreation and Golf Course. The checks will be available after 11:30am until 3:30pm tomorrow in the same location where you normally pick up your paycheck.

Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants Personnel:

John Bolder will pick up paychecks for all employees in the Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants. The checks will be available after 11:30am until 4:30pm tomorrow in the same location where you normally pick up your paycheck.

All Other Employees:

All other employees may come to the Payroll Department located on the first floor of City Hall after 9:00 am tomorrow. Finance will be open until noon for paycheck pick up. Please note the purpose is to distribute actual paychecks, not to distribute the pay stubs for those who have direct deposit.
