The boil water notice for Plantation Kingsbridge and Colonial Country Club has been lifted with the exception of the guardhouse at 9055 Colonial Country Club Lane. Further testing is being done at this address.

The boil water notice is still in effect for Colonial Country Club and Plantation Kingsbridge.

These are all developments along Treeline Avenue between Colonial Boulevard and Daniels Parkway.

Next week, citizens will have the opportunity to get involved in the East Fort Myers Revitalization and Redevelopment Plan.

The Fort Myers City Council passed a resolution on Monday, April 21, 2008, to encourage and challenge public agencies and private employers to invest in the future of our community by creating summer job opportunities for the youth of our community. The City of Fort Myers will spearhead this effort by hiring 20 young workers 14-16 years of age to work part-time in various city departments for 10 weeks this summer.

The City of Fort Myers will observe the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 26, 2008. All City government offices, including the Solid Waste and Utility Billing offices, will be closed that day.

Fort Myers, FL, May 12, 2008 – The boil water notice that was issued on Friday, May 9, 2008 from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd./MLK south to Hanson Street and from Broadway east to Palm Avenue has been rescinded. The water is now safe to drink.

A news conference will be held Thursday, May 8th at 5:30pm to announce plans to revitalize and redevelop East Fort Myers. The planning area boundaries are: Caloosahatchee River to the north, Billy Creek to the south and west and Prospect Avenue to the east.
