About Us

The City of Fort Myers Yacht Basin was created as a Works Project Administration Goal in 1936, to provide employee opportunities after the Great Depression and to provide a safe haven/public access for area boaters in Fort Myers. The Yacht Basin has been in continuous operation since its completion in 1939, meeting the needs of generations of boaters as they spend time in the City of Fort Myers.

The Yacht Basin has grown from the original 40 slips to the current 241 slips and is able to accommodate any and all vessels capable of transiting the Okeechobee Waterway, which is managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, to allow cross-state water traffic.
