Benefits & Wellness

Welcome to the City of Fort Myers Benefits and Wellness page. Each year we review the benefit package that is offered to all Full-Time City of Fort Myers employees to assure they reflect the best the City has to offer. We cover Benefits, Wellness, Deferred Compensation, Leave of Absences, Training and Development, and the Employee Assistance Program.

As a City of Fort Myers employee, you will be invited to an annual benefits fair prior to the annual open enrollment period.  This will give you an opportunity to discover the great benefits your City has to offer.

Open enrollment runs each year from August 1 through August 15. If you wish to make changes to your current benefit elections, you must complete enrollment by August 15. If during the calendar year you have a lifestyle change (Gain a spouse, Lose a Spouse, Gain a Dependent, Lose a Dependent, Loss or Gain of Eligibility, Significant Cost Changes, FMLA, COBRA, Judgment, Decree or Orders, Medicare or Medicaid Entitlement or another Section 125 Qualifying event) please contact your Benefits Team to assist you with this change.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

EAP is a free counseling service available to all our employees and their families. EAP will provide up to three counseling sessions to help identify referrals or proper medical care/treatment necessary and provide resources.

Professional counselors are experienced problem solvers. They are trained in human behavior or, “why we do the things we do?” They understand why problems occur and can help identify possible solutions and treatments. Just talking about your problems sometimes leads to a new solution.

If you or someone you know needs information, guidance or help, please contact your EAP professionals.
