Beautification Team

Beautification Crew

The City of Fort Myers is always working to keep our city beautiful. Our Public Works Department has put together a neighborhood beautification crew.  These folks are responsible for picking up trash along the roadsides and in neighborhoods within the city. The city purchased two small pick up trucks, two tow behind vacuums, two Kubota UTV’s and a vacuum that can be driven down sidewalks and in small areas to assist with pick up.  At this time we have three city employees on this team, but we're looking to have a team of seven.

The crew officially hit the streets January 28th starting in ward one. So far, we’ve collected over 50 large bags of trash, each bag is 75 gallons. We are tracking the amount of bags done daily and the total weight collected when the dumpster is pulled and weighed before emptying.

The members on this crew are working long hours to clean up our city and make sure our roadways are liter free, so help them out by putting your trash where it belongs!
