An employee's salary rate is determined on various factors, including but not limited to the external market comparisons, internal equity, departmental budget considerations, the employee's performance, and the knowledge and skills the employee brings to the position.

What is the difference between exempt and non-exempt employees?
The federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regulates whether an employee is eligible for overtime or not. The Non-Exempt employees are eligible for overtime, and the Exempt are overtime exempt. Refer to our Policy and Procedures for more information.
