Please contact the Engineering division at 239-321-7445 and a traffic calming study request application will be sent to you. The application needs to be signed by a minimum of 5 homeowners in the affected area. After Engineering receives the complete application, the traffic study will then be completed to determine if traffic calming is warranted. You will be notified of the traffic study recommendation.

The City will not tap the line, provide hardware/connections, meter boxes, backflow preventers, etc. The only thing the City will provide is the meter after all appropriate fees are paid and an account is established.
The 2 permits are a plumbing trade permit and a right of way utility connection permit.

Any time a home owner or contractor will be digging in an area there may be water, sewer, electric or phone lines Florida Statue requires that 811 be called to locate any utilities in the ground by paint or flags. It is against the law to remove these flags without verifying with the local utility, FPL, or Centurylink Company that the work has been completed. The City is only responsible and legally allowed to mark utilities in the public right-of-way they cannot come on to private property. The City marks in the front or rear easements of the property.
Locates are set to be completed 48 hours from the time you call the 811 call center. There are times when other circumstances do not allow for that at that time. You can call 321-7445 Engineering and we will see where the conflict may be.
The stormwater assessment is calculated for City parcels based on the square footage of impervious area on the property. The impervious area includes, but is not limited to, building structures, pavement, driveways, sidewalks, etc. Each standard impervious unit of 500 square feet is assessed at a rate of $1.92 per month. The annual stormwater fee for the upcoming calendar year is billed on the tax roll as a non-ad valorem assessment.
A stormwater fee is the assessment that property owners pay for the improvement of City-wide stormwater collection and operation. A stormwater user fee provides revenue to maintain and improve existing stormwater infrastructure in the City as well as to implement the comprehensive stormwater quality management plan required by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
