Notice of Proposed Grant Application
The City of Fort Myers is requesting public comments prior to submitting a grant application for the Rebuild Florida General Infrastructure Program (GIP) administered by the State of Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO). This Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant - Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) allocation as described in Public Law 115-123, and $150,000,000 is available during this funding cycle. The City of Fort Myers is requesting $2,580,200 of GIP funding to complete phase two of the Billy Bowlegs Community Park project, located at 951 Marsh Avenue, Fort Myers, FL 33905. The proposed project will include the development of a new multi-purpose community center building, the development of two new basketball courts, and the partial re-grading of green space areas to resolve existing water drainage conditions.
