What is United Way 211?
211 is a United Way program that provides free information and referral to human/social service agencies within Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee Counties. Clients can call and receive information and referrals appropriate to their needs.

Why is United Way 211 important?
United Way 211 exists to help people navigate their way through the maze of human and social services agencies by providing the most adequate resources for the client’s situation. This efficient process promotes prevention and self-sufficiency by giving the clients easy access to services they normally would not be aware of.

Who answers when I call?
Trained information and referral specialists will assess the client’s need and give appropriate referrals. Every call is completely confidential.

When can I call?
United Way 211 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This continuous coverage is made possible through a partnership with ACT – Abuse, Counseling & Treatment. English and Spanish languages are readily available.

Remember!
United Way 211 is for non-emergency assistance only; 211 may not be reached on some hotel, cell, or pay phones. In these cases, 211 can be reached in Lee County at (239) 433-3900 and Hendry/Glades (800) 887-9234.
